Joeri and Olana - father and daughter at play

This picture shows Joeri, Olana's sire, playing with his daughter. Olana is going to stay with us, and we will be calling her Ola. Two-syllable-names are easier to call in the field than three-syllable-names. Actually the name Ola is used for both genders. As a female name, Ola is the Polish short form of Aleksandra, meaning "defender of mankind".

Since I was born in Poland, I am very familiar with the name.

Ola is a pretty feisty girl, but Joeri is gentle and very patient with her.

A picture of Ola in the field. She is 13 weeks old today, and she is a big girl at 10 lbs.
